In May 2007, Flute Frenzy participated in the 400th anniversary commemoration of the 1607 founding of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in the New World. The group presented music commissioned by them for this event on the Democracy Stage in Anniversary Park, Jamestown, on Saturday May 12th 2007. Catherine McMichael, one of the groups favorite composers, wrote the 3 movement piece named James Towne Trilogy. Click here to see our pictures.

James Towne Trilogy was premiered by Flute Frenzy on Sunday, March 4th 2007 at the Kimball Theater in the Historic Triangle of Virginia. Award winning composer, Catherine McMichael, was in attendance at the premiere performance. Click here to see pictures of the premiere.

In August 2006, Director Margaret Carlson met with Composer Catherine McMichael in Williamsburg to receive the completed commissioned work, James Towne Trilogy.
